Last year the Police Commissioner made a decision to deny the use of FOP3 detail days (bargained) for members to attend the FOP National Conference. FOP3 quickly filed a grievance, which was denied at every step by the administration. FOP3 filed for arbitration and an arbitration hearing was held in front of an independent arbitrator. A two day hearing was heard in January 2020, with several FOP3 members testifying, along with the departments representatives. Yesterday the arbitrator’s ruling was released and FOP3 was successful with our case. To those members involved in this case please pay attention to the arbitrators ruling under award starting on page 29-31 in the attached document. FOP3 will monitor this decision for compliance!
