Today, a jury of Baltimore City citizens returned with a verdict of Guilty of 1st Degree Murder for one of the suspects in the killing of our friend and colleague, Officer Keona Holley. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the BPD Homicide Unit and all the units who supported them in this investigation and trial. Also, we congratulate Assistant State’s Attorney Kurt Bjorklund and his team from State’s Attorney Ivan Bates’s office. We thank the jury for their attention in this case and hope that future juries follow their lead in weighing the evidence rather than their own personal biases. This cowardly act against one of our own was chilling and we ask for nothing but the harshest sentence possible, which will still not be enough.
