Kudos to Det/LT McLarney 10/30/2023

When Akia Eggleston disappeared over 5 years ago, only one man, Det/Lt Terrance McLarney of the Baltimore Police Homicide Unit believed it to be suspicious. McLarney is a 47-year veteran of the BPD with most of that spent in Homicide. Some might remember him from the book “Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets”. He is a true professional and the last of his era. After some time passed in the investigation McLarney was joined by BPD Homicide Detective Jill Beauregard, a couple of Federal Agents, and a State’s Attorney who also believed the disappearance suspicious. After a multi-state investigation and many years, a suspect was charged in this case and just recently convicted in the murder of Akia Eggleston. The BPD and the City of Baltimore are lucky that a man such as Det/Lt Terrance McLarney chose to stay and lend his expertise to a city in need.
